San Mateo County Superior Court seeks volunteers for Civil Grand Jury. The Honorable Elizabeth K. Lee, Presiding Judge of the San Mateo County Superior Court, has announced the appointment of the Honorable Donald J. Ayoob as the San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury advisor. Judge Ayoob’s term will begin July 1, 2024, and end June 30, 2025. The application period to serve on the 2024-25 Civil Grand Jury opened on January 24, 2024, and will close on March 27, 2024. “Any U.S. citizen and San Mateo County resident, 18 years of age or older, of ordinary intelligence, sound judgment and good character, with sufficient knowledge of the English language” is eligible for selection by Judge Ayoob. Elected public officials are not eligible. As the court strives to obtain a cross section of the county population to serve in this prestigious role, it encourages all interested individuals to apply. After the completion of an interview process conducted by Judge Donald J. Ayoob, jurors will be selected through a random draw. Application forms can be obtained on-line at: https://www.sanmateo.courts.ca.gov/divisions/grand-jury.
