SEATTLE -- Ray Allen scored 32 points and Rashard Lewis added 26, leading the Seattle SuperSonics to a 111-107 comeback victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
The Warriors shot only 2-for-21 in the third quarter -- getting baskets by Derek Fisher and Baron Davis -- and Golden State had a season-low nine points in the period to fall behind 85-71. The Sonics had runs of 12-0 and 10-0 in the quarter.
Allen put the Sonics ahead to stay at 64-63 with a driving layup with 4:11 gone in the second half. The Sonics led by as many as 15 in the third period.
Davis led the Warriors with a season-high 35 points.
Sharks 6, Mighty Ducks 4
ANAHEIM -- Jonathan Cheechoo scored three goals for the second time this season against Anaheim, leading the San Jose Sharks to a 6-4 victory over the Mighty Ducks on Wednesday night.
Tom Preissing got the go-ahead goal on a power play with 7:04 left in the game and Evgeni Nabokov made 35 saves, helping end Anaheim's three-game winning streak and the Sharks' three-game skid.
Mark Smith scored one of San Jose's three power-play goals, Nils Ekman scored into an empty net with one second remaining, and Joe Thornton had two assists.
Duke 83, Boston College 81
BOSTON -- J.J. Redick scored 28 points, including three late free throws, to help second-ranked Duke hold off No. 15 Boston College 83-81 on Wednesday night.
Duke (20-1, 8-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) led by as many as 18 early in the second half before BC (16-5, 4-4) whittled the lead to six. The Eagles made it a one-possession game in the final seconds without star Craig Smith, who fouled out with three minutes left.
But Tyrese Rice couldn't finish a coast-to-coast drive -- missing a layup and hitting the floor hard, but not getting the foul call he wanted. Shelden Williams made both free throws with 7.4 seconds left.<
