Burlingame 5, Aragon 2
The race for the PAL Bay Division tightened up as the Panthers handed the Dons their first Bay Division loss of the season.
Aragon beat Burlingame 6-1 in their first meeting.
Three of the matches Tuesday went three sets, with Burlingame (7-2 PAL Bay, 9-4 overall) winning all three of them — which proved to be the difference in the match. Kaden Lam notched a big win at No. 1 singles. He rallied back from a set down to beat Veraaz Khan 5-7, 6-3, 10-6.
The No. 1 doubles match also needed three sets to be decided, with the Panthers pair of Jake Druskin and Kieran Kilgo, like Lam, had to come back from down a set to post a 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 victory. The Burlingame duo of Darren Wagner and Gregory Kozakov then prevailed in three sets at No. 3 doubles, taking down Linus Feng and Kian Cheung, again coming back from down a set to win 2-6, 6-2, 10-4.
With the win, Burlingame is now just a game out of first place, while Aragon falls into a first-place tie with Carlmont. The Dons and Scots meet for the second in the regular-season finale April 21 in San Mateo.
Mills 4, San Mateo 3
The Vikings kept the Bearcats winless in Bay Division play after slipping past them in San Mateo Tuesday.
And Mills (4-6 PAL Bay, 4-6 overall) did so by sweeping the three doubles matches, with Neel Ranji giving the Vikings an all-important win at No. 4 singles — 6-4, 6-3.
Gavin Liu and Cameron Liu were dominant in their No. 2 doubles win, posting a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Simon Post and Jovian Cheung dropped only two games in each set as they won their No. 3 doubles match 6-2, 6-2. Max Varfolomeev and Victor Li completed the doubles sweep for Mills at No. 1, winning 6-4, 6-1.
San Mateo (0-10, 5-10) won the first three singles matches, with Atul Anand winning in three sets at No. 2 — 6-7, 6-3, 10-7.
PAL Bay Division standings: Aragon 8-1, Carlmont 8-1, Burlingame 7-2, Menlo-Atherton 4-5, Mills 4-6, Woodside 2-8, San Mateo 0-10.
Hillsdale 7, Capuchino 0
The Knights maintained a two-game lead over Sequoia atop the PAL Ocean Division standings with the sweep of the Mustangs.
Hillsdale (8-0 PAL Ocean, 9-4 overall) lost a total of five games over five matches contested, as Capuchino (0-8) forfeited at No. 4 singles and No. 3 doubles.

Clayton Bogan won his match at love for the Knights at No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 — as did the No. 1 doubles team of Leon Zhou and Mathias Gerber.
Half Moon Bay 7, El Camino 0
The Cougars kept their slim Ocean Division title hopes alive after blanking the Colts.
HMB (6-3 PAL Ocean) is three games behind Hillsdale with three matches left on the Ocean Division schedule.
The Cougars could be eliminated as soon as Thursday, however, when they host Hillsdale.
Zander Merrill and Declan Laurenco, playing at No. 1 doubles won their match at love 6-0, 6-0. The No.3 doubles team of Tractor Forster and Marshall Patton lost only one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win, Carlos Ortega at No. 4 singles won 6-1, 6-1, while Jairus Orias won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles for the Cougars.
PAL Ocean Division standings: Hillsdale 8-0, Sequoia 6-2, Half Moon Bay 6-3, El Camino 2-5, Oceana 2-6, Capuchino 0-8.
Badminton
San Mateo 18, South City 12
The Bearcats got wins from No. 1 spots in boys’ and girls’ singles, along with mixed doubles as they downed the Warriors.
Aiden Chan won at No. 1 boys’ singles, 21-7, 21-10, while Ashita Pant duplicated that at No. 1 girls’ singles, winning 21-15, 21-12. Nathan Kuang and Vivian Shi won the No. 1 match in mixed doubles, 21-14, 16-21, 21-17.
South City got wins at No. 1 boys’ doubles, where Tyler Chin and Austin Wai won 21-11, 21-10. Ashley Lay and Chloe Wong gave the Warriors the win at No. 1 girls’ doubles, 21-18, 21-17.
Aragon 24, Mills 6
The Dons won No. 1 matches in four of the five categories to cruise to the win over the Vikings.
Perlina Tse won the girls’ No. 1 singles match for Aragon 21-5, 21-3; William Ye and Anson Yu won the No. 1 boys’ doubles match 21-4, 21-11; Sathini Senthilkumar and Karthana Warrier won 21-6, 21-5 in girls’ doubles, with Takeo Blakely and Ellie Leo winning at the No. 1 mixed doubles spot, 21-14, 21-7.
Mills’ Stephen Rong won at No. 1 singles for the boys, 21-15, 21-14.
