Burlingame 35, Palo Alto 14
The Panthers rebounded from last week’s gut-punch, overtime loss to Half Moon Bay by pulling away from the Bay Division’s Vikings in a Thursday night game in Palo Alto.
Burlingame (1-1) scored two touchdown in the first quarter to lead 14-0, but Palo Alto (0-2) got back into the game with a pair of scores in the second period to trail 21-14 at halftime.
But the Panthers scored touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters as their defense pitched a second-half shutout.

Menl0-Atherton 12, St. Francis 0
A day after beating Rodriguez-Fairfield to open the season, the Bears won their second straight with a shutout of the Lancers.
M-A (2-0) bookended the game, scoring once in the first quarter and again in the fourth. Bears quarterback Mae Kunihiro and receiver Bailee van Loben Sels accounted for the scoring, with Kunihiro tossing a pair of touchdown passes to van Loben Sels.
Hillsdale 21, Santa Clara 6
A 14-point third quarter carried the Knights to their first win over the season over the Bruins.
Santa Clara (1-2) took a 6-0 after the first quarter, but Hillsdale (1-1) answered with a score and extra point to lead 7-6 at halftime. The Knights then took control with 14 points in the third period.
Hillsdale junior quarterback Ania Aleshi had a huge game. She completed 29 of 37 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns. Madison Regan was her favorite target as she caught 13 passes for 69 yards.

Lucia Forney was the big-play target for Aleshi. Forney finished with seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Judy Michael caught the other scoring pass for the Knights.

Sacred Heart Prep (2-0) blew out Sequoia (0-2), 42-0.
Girls’ golf
Aragon 240, Carlmont 242
The Dons notched an important win over the defending Bay Division co-champs.
Aragon and Carlmont tied for the regular-season title in 2024, with the Scots receiving the PAL’s automatic Central Coast Section bid via tiebreak.
The Dons won the play-in match over Mills last season.
Kate Chong led Aragon for the second match in a row, carding a 45 at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Hillsborough. Vittoria Ferrano was a shot back with a 46, while Ariel Ogawa came in with a 49.
Carlmont was led by sophomore Tessa Lee, who fired the low round of the day, posting a 6-over 42. Kathryn Winters finished with a 46 for the Scots. They were the only two Scots with sub-50 rounds.
Mercy 260, Notre Dame-Belmont 274, Menlo School 274
The Bears beat both the Tigers in and the Knights in a WBAL tri-meet at Crystal Springs Golf Course.
Mercy’s Grace Boden, NDB’s Cadence Kong and Menlo’s Niva Sharma tied for low-round honors as all three shot 49s.
