El Camino 27, Homestead 21
After coughing up a fourth-quarter lead, the Colts pulled out the win over the Mustangs with a touchdown in the first overtime in the PAL Lake Division opener for both.
El Camino (1-0 PAL Lake, 2-1 overall) won its second straight game, scoring a season-high 27 points. The Colts got a forfeit win over Prospect two weeks ago and had a bye last week.
After a scoreless first quarter, El Camino took a 7-3 lead at halftime and led 14-11 going into the fourth period.
But Homestead (0-1, 2-1) outscored the Colts 10-7 over the final 12 minutes to force overtime.
Girls’ golf
Mills 216, Carlmont 240
The Vikings snagged a big win and are now legitimate contenders for the PAL Bay Division title after beating last year’s co-champs at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Burlingame.
For the first time this season, the low round of the day didn’t go to Mills’ Irene Jaewon. Instead, it was Christina Chen, a sophomore, who carded a match-best 3-over 39. Jaewon was a shot back with a 4-over 40. Kayli Tsang fired a 42, Angelina Cheng a 46 and Maddie Capute a 49.
Carlmont was led by Tessa Lee, who finished with a 6-over 42. Karuna Mungali had a 45, Kathryn Winters a 48 and Dakota Chang a 49.
Mills moves to 4-0 in Bay Division, while Carlmont falls to 1-2.
Aragon 261, Menlo-Atherton 300
The Dons remained undefeated in Bay play with the win over the Bears at Baylands Golf Links in Palo Alto.
With Kate Chong out of action, the Dons were led by Autumn Ogawa, who finished with a 40. Ariel Ogawa came in with a 43, the only two Aragon players to shoot sub-50 rounds.
M-A was led by freshman Savannah Lee, who finished with a 50.
Aragon kept pace with Mills atop the Bay Division standings, improving to 4-0. M-A falls to 0-4.
El Camino beats Half Moon Bay by forfeit
Despite not playing an official match because of the Cougars’ forfeit, the Colts still went out and played a practice round at Fleming Golf Course at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.
Adelina De La Cruz shot a 39 and Ryley Saavedra had a 43.
Girls’ tennis
Aragon 7, Menlo-Atherton 0
The Dons tuned up for their showdown with Carlmont next Tuesday by sweeping the Bears, the third sweep in four PAL Bay Division matches.
Mia Lo, No. 1 singles player for Aragon (4-0 PAL Bay, 7-2 overall), lost her first game in four Bay matches, but still cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win. All told, the four singles player lost just one game each.

The Dons’ No. 1 doubles team of Jessa Williams and Allison Newman lost one game in each set in a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
M-A falls to 2-2 in Bay play and 6-4 overall.
Carlmont 6, Burlingame 1
The two-time defending champion Scots stayed undefeated in Bay play after knocking off the Panthers.
Two of the matches went three sets, with the teams splitting them. Carlmont’s Megan Bence, playing at No. 2 singles, needed three sets to get past Samantha Tom, 6-4, 5-7, 10-6.
At No. 2 doubles, Burlingame’s Caroline Rafferty and Fiona Larlab rallied from a set down to top Maya Kacholiya and Yashvi Shah, 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.
San Mateo 4, Sequoia 3
The Bearcats picked up their first Bay Division win of the season, slipping past the Ravens.
Sequoia (1-3 PAL Bay) won three of four singles matches. Maya Perez-Martinez, playing at No. 2 singles, won a three setter, 5-7, 6-2, 10-1. Natalie Tha also won in three sets at No.3 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
San Mateo (1-3) responded by sweeping the three singles matches. The Bearcats’ No. 2 doubles team of Paige Leung and Misha Charma won in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 10-1.
In other action ...
Mills (2-2 PAL Bay, 5-2 overall) swept Half Moon Bay (0-4, 0-6), 7-0.
Capuchino (3-1 PAL Ocean) won its second match in a row, beating South City (0-4), 6-1.
Oceana (3-1 PAL Ocean) held off Westmoor (1-3), 4-3.
El Camino (2-2 PAL Ocean) beat Terra Nova (0-4), 7-0.
Woodside (4-0 PAL Ocean) stayed undefeated in Ocean play by handing Hillsdale (3-1) its first loss, 4-3.
Boys’ water polo
Leland 12, Serra 11
The Padres built a two-goal lead in the first period, but couldn’t hold on as the Chargers rallied for the non-league win.
Serra (5-5 overall) led 3-1 after the first quarter, with Leland (8-2) cutting its deficit to one at halftime, trailing 4-3 at the half. The Chargers took the lead in the third period, outscoring the Padres 6-4 to lead 9-8 going into the fourth.
Both teams scored three goals in the final period.
In other action ...
Aragon (2-0 PAL Ocean) beat Half Moon Bay (1-1), 12-4.
Girls’ water polo score
Katerina Tilis made 13 saves to help lead Mills (2-0 PAL Ocean) past San Mateo (1-1), 13-10.
