Atascadero 6, Terra Nova 3
Terra Nova (7-6) dropped the second game at the Atascadero Spring Break Tournament, with host Atascadero (5-11) rallying for four runs in the first to lead wire to wire. The Tigers scratched out three runs, including back-to-back RBI singles from juniors Justin Hair and Brody Finale in the fourth. Senior catcher Joey Donati added a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first, with Terra Nova playing as the home team at the away venue.
King’s Academy 12, Capuchino 2
Junior right-hander Taiyo Petersen got back in the win column to lead the King’s Academy (2-1 PAL Bay, 7-5 overall) with a five-inning complete game against Capuchino (0-2, 10-5) in Sunnyvale. Petersen held the Mustangs to two hits, allowing two runs (one earned) on three walks, two hit batsman against five strikeouts. His record improves to 2-1. Junior Dominic Myung paced the Knights at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs. Seniors Jordan Estrella and James Ayoob each logged singles for Cap.
Riordan 4, Burlingame 2
Riordan-SF (5-9) jumped out to an early lead behind winning starting pitcher Santino Williams, and sophomore reliever Theo Gaenslan fired four shutout innings to earn the save as Burlingame (7-6) fell in non-league play at Washington Park. Gaenslan was masterful, allowing one hit while striking out nine. Burlingame juniors Nash Trautwein and Mark O’Grady combined for four perfect innings of relief, with Trautwein getting through the Crusaders’ lineup once to span three innings, striking out three.
Leigh 7, Hillsdale 6
With the game tied 6-all in the sixth, Leigh-San Jose (11-4) produced a sacrifice fly off the bat of junior Aiden Phillips for the game-winner at home against Hillsdale (8-6). The Knights overcame a 4-0 deficit in the middle innings, jumping out to a 6-4 lead in the fourth on a two-run home run by Jaden Minahan, the first of his varsity career. Leigh responded by flexing some power of its own, tying it in the bottom of the frame on a two-run homer from senior Cooper Low.

Mills 5, Westmont 1
Mills freshman Isabel Chen emerged in relief with the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth, and left them stranded to close out the non-league home win for the Lady Vikings (7-3) over Westmont-Campbell (5-13). Chen picked up the save in relief of senior starter Hailey Pedroza, working 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out one. Chen got Mills on the board in the first with an RBI triple, and finished with two RBIs. Sophomore Bailey Beauchemin added two hits with a double and two RBIs.
Aragon 14, Burlingame 2
Junior Taylor Workman fell a double shy of the cycle, going 4 for 4 with a triple, a home run and four RBIs to lead the Lady Dons (10-7) to a five-inning mercy-rule non-league home win over Burlingame (6-6). Aragon totaled 13 hits in the game to improve its team batting average to .376 on the year, with junior Olivia Mukherjee going 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs, and sophomore Aliyah Adle adding two hits and three RBIs. Workman now leads all the Peninsula Athletic League in batting, while slashing .722/.783/1.417 on the year.
El Camino 12, Lowell 7
The Lady Colts (3-5) let an early 5-0 advantage slip away, but retook the lead when Juliana Bazlamit and Izzy Totah scored on an outfield error in the fourth. Aiyana Lopez led El Camino with a 2-for-3 day with a double and four RBIs, while Totah added two hits and two RBIs. Lowell-SF (5-8) totaled 15 hits on the day, with three hits apiece from junior Celine Chen and freshman Aila Liu.
Homestead 11, Capuchino 1
Homestead-Cupertino (14-4) took the lead in the bottom of the fourth on a bases-loaded walk to freshman Avery Lin to score four in the frame, and added six more in the fifth to notch the mercy-rule home win in non-league play against Capuchino (4-6). Homestead pitchers Evelyn Chan and Mackenzie Smith combined on a shortened five-inning no-hitter as Cap starter Lily Thomas battled into the fourth amid a 1-all tie. The Lady Mustangs committed a season-high five errors in the field.
