Serra 6, Mitty 0
The Padres (3-4 WCAL, 13-6 overall) bashed two three-run home runs to back a shutout effort by senior right-hander Riley Lim and two relievers, as Serra took down Mitty-San Jose (3-4, 14-5) at Frisella Stadium.
Junior first baseman William Walbridge got the Padres on the board in the second inning with a three-run home run to center, his fourth of the year. Freshman Michael Ohman then went yard with a three-run shot in the fifth, the first home run of his varsity career.
It was all the runs Lim would need, as he worked 5 2/3 innings, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out five. Senior Antonio Sekelj entered in relief with two on and two out to get the final out of the sixth. Senior Kelley Crawford closed it out with a perfect seventh.
Capuchino 3, Hillsdale 2
With the game tied 1-1 in the third, Capuchino (2-4 PAL Bay, 12-7 overall) rallied for two runs in the bottom of the inning to win a two-game series opener at home against Hillsdale (1-5, 8-9). Cruz Alfaro led off the inning with a walk, and Jordan Estrella and Dominic Fanara singled back-to-back to load the bases. Jacob Zayac then delivered a go-ahead infield single to give the Mustangs a 2-1 lead. James Ayoob then drew a two-out walk to force home a run. Fanara earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs on six hits through 4 2/3 innings.
Estrella closed it out with 2 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the first save of his varsity career. The senior paced all batters with three hits. Hillsdale junior Brayden Lee had a pair of doubles with an RBI, while senior Hugo Guzman added two hits with a double and a run scored.
Menlo School 4, Carlmont 0
Right-handers Jackson Flanagan and Reid Plamondon combined to scatter six hits as Menlo (4-3 PAL Bay, 11-7 overall) recorded its first shutout of the year in PAL Bay Division action against Carlmont (3-3, 8-10) at Cartan Field. Flanagan allowed three hits through four innings of work to earn the win, improving his record to 5-0. Plamondon closed it out with three shutout inning to earn his first save of the year. The Knights got on the board in the second inning on an infield error, and Renner Barnett made it 2-0 on an RBI groundout. Then in the fourth, Menlo added on with a two-run single by catcher Chuck Wynn.

Mountain View 5, Mills 2
With Mills leading 2-0 going into the seventh, Mountain View (7-12) rallied for five runs in its final at-bat to stun the Lady Vikings (10-6) in Millbrae. With the score tied 2-all, freshman Riley Anderson delivered a three-run home run to left. Mills starting pitcher Hailey Pedroza and Mountain View’s Caroline Kim locked up for quite a pitching duel, trading four shutout innings before Mills got on the board in the fifth on a two-run double from junior Lucy Esquivel. Kim went the distance for the Spartans, allowing two runs (none earned) on five hits and two walks, while striking out 12.
Mercy 11, Lowell 1
Mercy-Burlingame (15-4) rolled to a shortened five-inning, mercy-rule walk-off, fueled by freshman Fefe Alusa’s two home runs, in non-league play against Lowell-SF (7-10) at Cuernavaca Park. With the game tied 1-1 in the second, Mercy took the lead in the bottom of the inning on a bunt from Charlotte Kell to bring home Isabel Reburiano. Later in the inning, Alusa hit a three-run home run to make it 6-1. Alusa then led off the fifth with a solo home run to spark a five-run rally, capped by a walk-off RBI single from sophomore Viviana Reyes.
Kell earned the win in the circle, allowing one run on one hit through four innings. She walked three while striking out 11. Her record improves to 6-2.
Summit Shasta 17, Latino Prep 7
Aliana Escobar Medrano went 4 for 4 with four runs scored, and stole a career-high five bases as the Black Bears (3-1 PSAL, 4-2 overall) earned a five-inning mercy-rule win over Latino College Prep-San Jose (1-3, 2-13) at Gellert Park. Senior Nani Ochoa added two doubles and four RBIs for Summit Shasta, while sophomore Charity Lim was 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs. Ochoa earned the win in the circle, stranding runners at the corners in the top of the fifth by preserving the mercy-rule win with her season-high 12th strikeout.
Castilleja 19, Jefferson 2
Leila Ramoran collected the only two hits of the day for Jefferson (0-4 PAL Lake, 0-8 overall), as Castilleja-Palo Alto (2-4, 4-7) rolled to a four-inning mercy-rule win. Freshman Magnolia Kushner went 3 for 3 with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs for the Gators, while freshman Elly An added three hits with a triple and two RBIs.
