Editor,
I am sick and tired of hearing the liberal clergy, lay people, and non-Catholics saying we finally have our pope. Let’s try to get educated and understand how the Catholic Church has functioned for the past 2,000 years.
Now, if Pope Francis or any pope for that matter, was truly a genuine liberal, it actual would not make any difference in the way the church’s mission is carried out. Jesus Christ told the Apostles to go out in the world, spread the holy gospel throughout the world and baptize everyone in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The pope, cardinals, bishops and priests are the official men who our assigned to carry out this very important mission, but they are all capable of making human errors on many subjects of the world.
Now when the pope, the head of the holy Catholic Church, speaks on matters on moral and faith, he cannot make an error (a promise that Jesus Christ made to his church, his holy mystical body.) In other words, the pope cannot make any changes in doctrines and dogmas. Doctrines like abortion, birth control, homosexuality, divorce and others that pertain to morals cannot be changed and will stay in place because they are divine laws and are “unchangeable.”
Lastly, so, all of you liberals out there know, do not expect any changes in these important moral doctrines written above. It is wishful thinking on your part, but it certainly is not a forthcoming reality.
