Editor,

My dear tax payer, I can't believe what I am reading ("Shoddy roofs to cost millions" in the Sept. 19 edition of the Daily Journal). Question: Who signed off on a multi million roof job, that had no drains? Question: Where are all the county inspectors, and was any inspection done at all? This lack of supervision and inspection on multi-million contracts is a disgrace. Now, tax payers are asked to spend another $14 million for shoddy work. All parties that were in charge should be brought before the school district board and made accountable. From what I understand from superintendent and trustee, they are now considering a solar project that would require a new roof, anyway. It sure is a clever way away from a roof that didn't last 10 years. So everyone's off the hook, only the tax payers again foot the bill. Keep up the fine work, school district.
