It’s almost a daily occurrence that, in one form or another, President Trump will make a fool of himself. Consider his speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree, in which he flouted his own hedonistic cravings that stand in stark contrast to what scouting promotes.
We will skip the pesky references to honor and duty in the Scout Oath and go right to the Twelve Scout Laws. A scout is trustworthy. Well, let’s skip that as well and proceed to loyal. Loyalty is not meant as blind subservience from others, but it involves both deference and mutual respect. Helpful, courteous and kind: these imply the caring of others, not the narcissistic self. Obedient: when was he ever required to follow responsible rules of behavior? Cheerful: only when blustering to front of his gullible supporters, otherwise he has demonstrated nothing but contempt for women, minorities, health care recipients, the law, the press and pretty much anyone not in line with his own myopic views. Thrifty: flaunting wealth and indulgence (gold toilets) is a sign of instability, not maturity. Vindictive: (wait — wrong list). A scout is brave. Bullies are never brave. Clean: this refers to an open and receptive demeanor as laid out in the oath and above laws, not to an unlearned gutter mouth. Reverent does not imply self-reverence, nor does it refer to one specific belief, but to the incorporating of basic human concepts of decency and honesty into everyday life.

This letter from Mr. Lauder surely represents his opinion but it is far from reality. President Trump, has been working hard from day one to make his campaign promises a reality (and with enormous success so far with much more to come). He has had to battle activist judges, cowardly GOP legislators and hordes of hateful critics. Additionally, he has stood up to the tyrants Assad and Un. But to objective observers, he is a faithful servant striving to secure America, increase prosperity and to provide our Vets the care they deserve. Mr. Lauder's slam against the President is odious but common among the those who lost the election.
I simply don’t understand how incredibly gullible and easily fooled you must be to misunderstand Kent Lauder’s very clear analysis of Trump’s disgusting and unpresidential performance in front of the BsoA, - to which it was obviously a mistake to invite him, despite the long tradition of worthy presidents. How you can state “make his campaign promises a reality (and with enormous success so far with much more to come)”, is more than mind bugling. The only things Trumpy has accomplished so far, is to destroy governmental functions by placing people almost as incompetent as himself in charge of functions they don’t even understand, never mind respect. However, what most voters predicted, has come to pass, namely that he has made a laughingstock of himself around the world, and an embarrassment here at home. That became evident to most of us already during the campaign.
All we can hope for now, is that this incompetent egomaniac is removed from office before he does even more damage.

Very well put, Kent! And what a role model for all, boy scouts very much included, to grope women and brag about it?! That well known habit should have barred Trumpy from speaking to groups like the Boy Scouts of America!
