Around the world, there are many Third World countries that can’t afford or provide for the abundance of children in poverty. Students should be provided with at least the minimum educational resources, such as school books, backpacks and school supplies.
A country that is very close to my heart is the Philippines, and currently 12 million people living in the Third World country are in extreme poverty. In the first three months of 2015, many Filipinos have been below the poverty line, and were not even reaching the minimum requirement for basic food needs. Some major issues that need to be resolved are the malnutrition, lack of education and basic living necessities. Many impoverished children are less likely to attend schools because of the cost of education, and because most of the families need their children to work to boost income, which provides little to no time for studying and getting the education they need. Organizations such as Children International and Outreach International have been discovering new ways to improve and resolve the issues in many Third World countries. The Outreach International organization is helping families in the Philippines to access clean and drinkable water by creating water systems, which include wells and water pumps. Therefore, there should be more organizations that rise to better these Third World countries and help them reach for an overall better future and community.
