As a senior living in San Mateo, I found the March 4 guest perspective “San Mateo County becoming age friendly” by David J. Canepa and Anabel Pelham somewhat solicitous, political and pretentious, as though the huge number of aging citizens was just noticed. Why Redwood City, Pacifica and Daly City?
Obviously, the world has changed, families are far flung and technology suffices for face time.
Try to find availability of low cost senior housing anywhere in San Mateo County. Waiting Lists are closed and it takes many years to even be listed. We need affordable housing!
Start there and you would make our cities in San Mateo County a lot more friendly.

Tobbe-Supervisor Canepa is not interested in you, he is only interested in the people in his district and how he can get the rest of the county to support them. This is what you get with district elections, every man/woman for themselves, the other districts in the county be damned. .
