I would like to thank Bill Collins for his letter, “Restore court services in South San Francisco” (in the Sept. 6 edition of the Daily Journal). Being a disabled senior citizen living in Daly City, I find it hard to have to drive all the way to Redwood City to report for jury duty at 8:30 a.m. when you have to cope with the traffic along Highway 101 from the airport to the interchange in San Mateo and sometimes beyond.
I have been called for jury duty once at Old Mission Road in South San Francisco and once at the San Mateo Courthouse on Humboldt Street but I feel sorry for the rest of the prospective jurors who don’t drive and who take public transportation to go to Redwood City. Collins is right in suggesting restoring the court services in South San Francisco which is very much convenient for us residents on this side of San Mateo County. I hope this suggestion will be considered. Thank you.
