The Associated Press article you published concerning Israeli strikes in Gaza is the usual guff one can expect from that organization. Its two Arab writers focus entirely on the Arabs who were killed and on unverified casualty figures reported by Hamas and its affiliates without mentioning why Israel is striking them, never mind segregating combatant casualties from civilians.
The scrutiny given to the IDF reveals a shocking media double standard that is only applied to the Jewish state and to no other country in the world. How many times does the public have to be reminded of the unspeakable atrocities committed on Oct. 7, 2023, that generated Israel’s justifiable military response?
The U.S. killed hundreds of thousands of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq without penalty. Muslim governments have murdered millions of their own people. Why the different treatment in the media?
While every death of an innocent person is a tragedy, Hamas has deliberately obscured the truth that the civilian casualty rate on their side has never been as low in any conflict in recorded history, and even celebrates the deaths of 1,000 Israeli soldiers in addition to the 1,200 who were brutally murdered on Oct. 7 and in captivity thereafter. Let’s remember who fired the first shot.
If some people didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any standards at all. If the hostages had not been taken, or were returned on Oct. 8, thousands of Gazans would not have died. You can blame the Jews all you want, but facts are facts.

Thanks for your letter, Mr. Tuck, and calling out the bias in the Associated Press and other mainstream media sources. There’s a reason the AP and mainstream media sources have and continue to reinforce their loss of credibility. I’d say AP their biased reporting has contributed to more people siding with Israel because nobody takes unverified casualty figures seriously. I’m sure if the Hamas instigated war continues, the number of casualties will eventually exceed that of their population. Meanwhile, more power to Netanyahu to finish his mission should Hamas not do the right thing.
