The San Mateo County Central Labor Council is proud to endorse Nicole Fernandez for San Mateo City Council, District 2. Ms. Fernandez earned our sole endorsement due to her long history of supporting working families and championing social justice in our community.
Ms. Fernandez has worked on the front lines of our social safety net services as a former member of the San Mateo Community Relations Commission and as a current board member of Samaritan House, the largest antipoverty organization in our county. She has walked picket lines with union members seeking fair wages and safe working conditions and is a repeat volunteer at our monthly food distribution that provides groceries to a monthly average of 500 families. She has stood tall as an ally and a compassionate leader, and one that cares deeply about our community and everyone in it.
On behalf of the 100 affiliate unions and over 85,000 San Mateo County workers and their families represented by our Labor Council, we urge voters in San Mateo’s District 2 to support Nicole Fernandez for City Council.
