Editor,
The Dec. 9 letter to the editor, “Bad Tesla drivers” hit a responsive cord with me.
I would add to the author’s concern that it is not just Tesla drivers and not just in the Redwood Shores area. From were I sit, or more appropriately walk and drive, it’s all types of vehicles driven by all types of drivers all over the Peninsula.
Perhaps all of San Mateo County’s city mayors, police chiefs, district attorney and others would consider launching a campaign that starts playing hard ball with motorists running red lights and blowing stop signs and kiss your tush goodbye if you commit a hit-and-run. I understand we are all concerned about geo politics and the Earth getting to close to the sun but, for my tax dollar, we need to return to the basics of our society.

I agree, Mr. Altscher, but if California would rather aid and abet criminal invaders from the south, as well as continuing to release domestic criminals and arrestees back into the California wild, why would they enforce the law? I understand tickets will bring in revenue vs. deporting people or keeping them in jail but assuming tickets are issued why wouldn’t folks ignore them? Folks will complain about tickets being racist or sexist or some other –ist, and not being equitable, etc. and all tickets will be voided. Voters get the government they deserve and unless voters make a change, I’d recommend staying vigilant when walking, driving, and living in California.
