Editor,

There is only one way of looking at the story (“Hillsborough calls Flintstone House a ‘public nuisance’ ” in the Tuesday, March 15, edition of the Daily Journal) of The Flintstone home — detestable. Ms. Fang’s house was approved by the same town of Hillsborough many years ago and she has made many minor improvements. Her sculpture garden is a necessary wildfire break of unique and pleasurable design. Hillsborough is abhorrent to treat a grandmother resident and property owner this was by declaring it “a public nuisance.” No one can even see the wildfire break from the perimeter (without encroaching). The garden is only visible from far away. The house and the tree growth block the view, obviously.

"Her sculpture garden is a necessary wildfire break" (Does the Alioto PR/strategy machine know about this?)

Now I understand why Fang ignored the building permit process. If that vegetation enriched valley goes up in flames, the Flintstones house will be the only dwelling left standing.
