Editor,

With all due respect to letter writer Ed Kahl’s seemingly magnanimous and measured attempt to explain the Democrat’s loss, he got it totally wrong.

Only a genetically mutated person could write such balderdash. Cory likely longs for the days of the mandatory masks and 6 foot distances.

I thought such a childish statement would be beneath even you, Dirk. I guess I was wrong again.

Dirk van Ulden

Don't you worry Jorg. You are wrong quite a bit and you are forgiven.

Jorg

So, just for my own enlightenment, - where have I been so wrong? And don't give me this tired "god" nonsense!

With all due respect to the letter writer, Cory David has it totally wrong. Cory would like to change the narrative but conveniently forgets that Democrats massively miscalculated with puppet Kamala – a flawed candidate who didn’t possess integrity, principle, honor, or respected the rule of law. A majority of states and voters saw the truth through Democrat lies and elected to Make America Great Again. Needless to say, if Cory is serious about getting help to be cured of Trump Derangement Syndrome, Cory needs to be prepared to stand in line. I’ll be right there to support you, buddy.

I can't even respond to this. I think the Author is a lunatic and needs to be 51-50d.

A main point of my letter was that most Americans rejected the Democrats' political agenda for social change. American's rejected elitist concept that they are essentially racist and sexist until proven other wise. They rejected the idea of equal outcomes which are based on socialism and racism instead of merit.

What to do with divisive letters from the left side of the aisle?

Last November, I submitted an LTE following the October 7 massacre of Israelis at the hands of Hamas terrorists. I wanted to get it right, so I asked a dear friend and former colleague who is Jewish to look over my draft. His suggestions were very helpful.

Last week, my friend sent me some thoughts about the November 5 election. The theme was unification. He is not a Trump supporter. An excerpt from his draft follows:

1. Accusations of racism can longer be hurled at people who support the police.

2. Accusations of misogyny can no longer be hurled at pro-life people.

3. Accusations of transphobia can no longer be hurled at people who oppose transwomen in female sports.

4. Accusations of misogyny, sexism, and LGBT hater can no longer be hurled at people who say that a person with a v----a is called a woman.

5. Accusations of bigotry can longer be hurled at people who want to enforce the rule of law at the border.

6. Accusations of privileged oppressor can no longer be hurled at white men for the crime of being white or male.

7. Accusations of colonizer or genocide supporter can no longer be hurled people who support Israel's right to exist in some form.

8. Accusation of colonizer or racist can longer be hurled at people who admire Jefferson or Washington despite their slave owning past.

9. Accusations of idiot or moron can no longer be hurled at people who lack a college degree.

10. Accusations of climate denier can no longer be hurled at people who support the US domestic oil industry.

11. Accusations of Islamophobic can no longer be hurled at people who oppose terrorism.

12. Accusations of hate speech can no longer be hurled at people of dissenting opinions across various issues.

13. Accusations of classist or greedy can no longer be hurled at those who support corporate innovations and the billionaires they create.

14. Accusations of racist can no longer be hurled at people who support admissions or hiring on the basis of merit over identity.

The list goes on and on, and until the Democratic party stops doing the above, they will continue to alienate the vast majority of Americans into voting against them. Not FOR Trump/GOP, but against the above.

Unfortunately many on the left are doubling down on all of this. They can't imagine for a second that people who voted differently than they did might actually be good people who also want the best for their families and our country, and aren't hateful and terrible.

Two for one…

Thanks, Ray Fowler for the partial list. I'll save it for potential use in the future. The question is whether your friend abides by his written thoughts. That would determine whether he is sincere. And hopefully, he is.

Thanks, MichKosk, for describing what is happening locally, and in the DJ, as well as nationally. As long as “they” continue their hysterical screeching and divisiveness, they’ll continue to reap what they sow. You have to wonder how hatred and intolerance have embedded itself so deeply in their hearts. Perhaps we need more funds for mental health. If you’re a registered Democrat, you have priority, for obvious reasons.
