In a recent guest perspective, Marco Durazo claims to be a political scientist — but you wouldn’t know it from his piece. A quick internet search would’ve shown there were no ICE raids at any school or graduation. School districts and media outlets have debunked those rumors. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a good panic?
Durazo runs with internet rumors like they’re hard evidence, conjuring images of federal agents storming schoolyards — except it never happened. What has happened is fear — stoked not by ICE, but by reckless commentary like his.
Ironically, Durazo calls for a “Superman” on immigration while playing Chicken Little. The sky isn’t falling, Marco — it’s just cloudy with misinformation.
If you want to criticize immigration policy, go for it. But don’t torch public trust with lazy, sensationalized fiction. Real advocacy starts with telling the truth.
