She was 93 years old, and had been a longtime resident of the Bay Area for 77 years.

Ruth Margaret Henning, born Dec. 24, 1924, died Aug. 5, 2018, at her home in Belmont, California.
She was 93 years old, and had been a longtime resident of the Bay Area for 77 years.
One of her passions was traveling the world with her husband Roy till his passing in 1994.
She continued traveling with her best friend Pat and daughter Jane. Ruth had been a nurse for more than 24 years working at Mills Hospital. She was vice president of the AARP Chapter No. 139. Ruth was a champion bridge player with partner Ed at the Elks Club in San Mateo. Ruth was a very accomplished and creative woman there was nothing Ruth couldn’t sew, knit, crochet, upholster or paint.
She was the oldest of seven children and is survived by her youngest sister Judith Reese Golden. She is also survived by her son Kenneth Henning, daughter Jane Henning Peltier, grandson Shane Peltier, Shane’s wife Jennifer and four great-grandchildren Cassandra, Samuel, Charles and Katlyn Rose (deceased).
