John Allen Meany, longtime San Carlos resident, died peacefully March 8, 2017, at age 76.
John is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Irene “Raggs” Meany, and his daughters Kathy, Karen and Kelly, sons-in-law Kent Fagliano, Joe Campagna and grandchildren Stephanie, Sabrina, Megan, Joey, Sheila and family.
John was born in San Francisco to parents John and Margaret Meany. He attended St. Agnes Grammar School and Saint Ignatius High School, class of 1958. He then went on to San Francisco City College before serving in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves for eight years.
John was a man of faith and an active parishioner of St. Charles Catholic Church for 53 years.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. Friday, March 17, and continue until the 7 p.m. vigil service. A funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18. All services will be at St. Charles Church, 880 Tamarack Ave., San Carlos.
