Elizabeth "Betty" Dial passed away peacefully on March 18, 2019. She was 96. Born in Loma Linda California and raised in Flushing Michigan, Betty was one of the first residents of Foster City. With breathtaking energy and a wonderful smile, she gave of herself to many different community initiatives, including: Foster City Elementary School (teacher for 40 years), Saint Ambrose Episcopalian Church, the Castaways Club (founding member), Kaiser hospital (volunteer), Foster City Library (storyteller), Foster City Senior Center (bridge club).
She is survived by her sons, Merlin and Everett, her sisters Cinny and Margie, her five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her first husband, Merlin Dyball (d.1949) and her second husband, Bill Dial (d.1995). She will be greatly missed.
Services will be held for her at Saint Ambrose Episcopalian Church, 900 Edgewater Blvd., Foster City, on June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
