Daniel Dominic Strazzullo, cherished father, husband, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on the evening of May 15, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Dan was born in San Francisco on May 17, 1946 to parents Domenico and Alma Strazzullo.
Dan grew up in North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf where his parents owned a restaurant and crab stand. He worked there alongside his siblings during his childhood and young adulthood.
After graduating from Galileo High School in 1964, Dan took a job with the government doing electrical work at Hunters Point Shipyard.
In 1970, Dan met Linda Reed at a little bar in Sausalito called Zack’s. They were married on May 20, 1972 at Saints Peter & Paul Church in North Beach.
During the early years of their marriage, they travelled throughout California for Dan’s government work.
In 1975, Dan and Linda returned to Linda’s hometown of San Bruno where they would start their family. That same year, Dan added a new chapter to the Strazzullo seafood legacy by opening Peninsula Seafood shop on El Camino Real.
Linda and Dan welcomed three children into the world: Dominica (Nicki), Joseph (Joe) and Vincent (Vince).
Building their life in San Bruno, Dan expanded his retail store into an international seafood brokerage. In his spare time he coached youth softball, collected memorabilia of all types, and watched every World War 2 documentary known to man.
Dan loved to travel and took many international trips with Linda. One of Dan’s final weeks was spent at their Puerto Vallarta timeshare with a group of lifelong friends.
Many will miss his boisterous laugh, his irreverent sense of humor and his loving heart.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife Linda; their three children, Nicki Minear (Patrick), Joe Strazzullo (Kelly) and Vince Strazzullo (Blanca); and his four grandchildren, Hannah, Zachary, Michelangelo and Theodore.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peninsula Italian American Social Club Scholarship Foundation.
“I told my wife to embrace her mistakes… she hugged me.” - One of Dan’s Countless Joke Shirts.
