RIVERSIDE -- A prostitute, her boyfriend and another woman have been convicted by three separate Riverside juries of luring two day laborers from a bar to a Corona motel room and killing them.
Brooke Marie Rottiers, Omar Tyree Hutchinson and Franchune Dyuel Epps were found guilty Friday of murder and a special circumstance of robbery.
The penalty phase of Rottiers' trial began Tuesday. Jurors must decide on the death penalty or life in prison without parole.
Epps and Hutchinson face life in prison without parole.
The trio was convicted of killing 22-year-old Marvin Gabriel and 28-year-old Milton Chavez. The day laborers' decomposing bodies were found gagged and hogtied inside an abandoned Honda Accord near Lake Mathews in August 2006.
