LOS ALAMITOS — More local governments in California are saying they don’t want to be part of the state’s efforts to resist the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown, especially in pockets where Republicans still dominate in the otherwise Democratic state.

Since the Jeff Sessions-led Department of Justice sued California last month over its so-called “sanctuary state” law limiting police collaboration with immigration agents, at least a dozen local governments have voted to either join or support the lawsuit or for resolutions opposing the state’s position.

The people of this nation as a whole, through their representatives, decided that immigrants must arrive through a legal process. Who is going to say US citizens don't have a right to our decision?

A single state cannot make immigration policy that impacts others. It does not have the right to impose an open borders policy, attract unknown foreign nationals, and shield criminal aliens so that the rest of the country suffers as they scatter to parts unknown.

CA officials illegally protecting aliens who go on to commit crimes against Americans should be held personally responsible for those crimes.

100% AGREE! This is a federal matter. We need our border secured. Our stated has been saturated with illegal aliens who create a burden on our systems: education, health care, criminal systems! This is the goal of the communists--to take down our systems by breaking them through open border policies.
