A 17,500-square-foot, three-story office building may replace Headlines Salon at 993 Laurel St. if a proposal to build the office building at the corner of Laurel Street and Morse Boulevard in San Carlos gains traction in the coming months.

According to a San Carlos City Council newsletter, plans to build an office building on Laurel Street would include 31 on-site parking spaces and more than 1,000 square feet of landscaping and decorative paving. Longtime owner of Headlines Salon, Jim DiPaola, has partnered with San Carlos-based real estate company JMS Development Partners to propose the project, which was reviewed at a neighborhood outreach meeting at the San Carlos Library Wednesday.
