Cal Fire and SFPUC officials are planning a prescribed burn Tuesday between Interstate 280 and St. James Road in Belmont to target dense coyote brush and poison oak.

The operation will be on one day and will be highly visible on the 52-acre site, officials said. This prescribed fire will generate smoke that will be visible from Sheep Camp Trail and Crystal Springs Road. Smoke may also be seen from the I-280 and State Route 92 corridor, and State Route 92 east to El Camino Real. Smoke could also be visible from San Carlos, Hillsborough, Belmont, San Mateo, Redwood City, Woodside and adjacent neighborhoods.
