The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reports a Redwood City man died while waiting in a Superior Court holding cell Tuesday afternoon.
Lt. Mark Hanlon said the man, who has reportedly been identified as 45-year-old Russell Cole, was waiting in the holding cell around 1:12 p.m. yesterday when he was found to have stopped breathing.
Sheriff's deputies assigned to the holding cell found Cole had no pulse and initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but could not revive him.
Hanlon said his death was due to a medical condition.<
