A man who allegedly tried to commit an armed robbery outside of a Taco Bell restaurant in San Carlos was arrested earlier this week, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Monday at about 3:30 p.m., deputies responded to a Taco Bell in the 200 block of El Camino Real.
A man said he was outside of the business when an unknown man approached him and demanded to see his belongings. When the victim refused, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife, the Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
Responding deputies saw the suspect, East Palo Alto resident Alexis Rincon, a short distance away and he was arrested. Deputies allegedly recovered the knife.
The victim was not injured.
Rincon was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of second-degree robbery, brandishing a deadly weapon and violating his probation.
