Army Pfc. Timothy E. Watermulder graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. Watermulder is the son of Eugenia Watermulder of Barroilhet Avenue in San Mateo and is a 2000 graduate from San Mateo High School.

Army Sgt. Kyle M. Vanderschoor returned to Fort Stewart, Ga., after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The soldier is a member of 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, Fourth Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. He is the son of Patricia Ann and Hendrik A. Vanderschoor of Dolton Avenue in San Carlos and is a 2000 graduate of Carlmont High School.

Army Pvt. Franklin P. Eller graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Eller is the son of Paul Eller and stepson of Sandy Basurto of Lane Street in Belmont.

Vance E. Zemke was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army after successfully completing the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program and graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Wash. The new officer will be branched to a specific corps in the Army to serve on active duty or in the National Guard or Reserve. The lieutenant also will attend the officer basic course relating to his or her particular military occupational specialty/job. He is the son of William E. and Jo Zemke of Eucalyptus Avenue in South San Francisco and is a 2001 graduate of South San Francisco High School.

Army Reserve Pfc. Jose T. Flores Perez graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Flores Perez is the brother of Vicente Flores of Oak Avenue, Redwood City.

Air Force Airman Salvin S. Ram has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Kiran Ram of Santa Lucia Avenue in San Bruno and is a 2005 graduate of Capuchino High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Mauricio A. Renazco Perez graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Sandra Perez of B Street in Colma and nephew of Jairo Perez of Daly City.

Air Force Airman Glenn Z. Sinigayan graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He is the son of Edgar and Angie Sinigayan of Belcrest Avenue in Daly City and is a 2002 graduate of Westmoor High School.

Deborah Owens, program coordinator at Sutter Health, participated in the 2005 White House Conference on Aging in December held in Washington, D.C.

John Bowles, senior vice president of Webcor Builders of San Mateo, was elected the 2006 president of the Construction Employers’ Association during the group’s 19th annual dinner meeting in January.

The Hiller Aviation Institute and Museum is proud to announce Larry Harrell as a new member of the board of directors for the museum. Harrell is vice president, strategy and technology, in charge of systems and platforms with responsibilities for coordination among Northrop Grumman’s Newport News, Ship Systems and Integrated Systems sectors.
