Marie Hensel of Millbrae, late of San Bruno and San Mateo County resident for 70 years, entered into rest in Millbrae on Jan. 19, 2005. Beloved wife of the late William Hensel, who passed away in 1980. Loving stepmother of Robert Hensel (Nancy) of San Bruno and Carol Howell (Bud) of Sunnyvale. Also survived by her 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A native of San Francisco, aged 93 years.
At Marie's request, there will be no service. Inurnment will be at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Fench Herron of San Mateo passed away at home on Jan. 17, 2005. He left peacefully with his family at his side. Fench Herron was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Elijah and Lucy Herron.
He grew up in El Centro, California along with five brothers and a sister. Fench graduated from Washington High School in El Centro and later moved to the Bay Area in 1945. In 1953 he met Agnes Joseph of Berkeley and they married the following year. The newlyweds settled in San Mateo where they started a family, and were blessed with four children.
Fench worked for San Mateo Union High School District for nineteen years, and finished out his career as a Plant Maintenance Engineer with the City of San Mateo retiring in 1982.
Fench was an avid 49ers' and Giant's fan. His hobbies included electronics and cars. He is survived by his loving wife Agnes of 51 years, three sons Sylvester, Wayne, and Ronald of San Mateo and daughter Julie of Loveland, Colorado; daughter-in-law Dona, five grand daughters Kelli, Kaya, Jemandari, Chimera, and Alisha and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be held at Saint Matthew's Catholic Church, 1 Notre Dame Avenue (at Ninth Avenue and El Camino Real) in San Mateo at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24. Interment will be at Skylawn Memorial Park following the mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Fench's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, Saint Matthew's Catholic Church in San Mateo, or your favorite charity.
