Fabrizio Fenucci Leonardo da Vinci, Angel for the 'Virgin of the Rocks,' 1483-1485. Collection of the Biblioteca Reale, Turin.

Leonardo da Vinci’s drawings continue to fascinate and challenge viewers today. The drawings document his extensive range of interests, particularly anatomical studies of humans and horses. Eleven of these drawings, as well as one of his most celebrated notebooks, are now on display at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor Museum. "Leonardo da Vinci: Drawings from the Biblioteca Reale in Turin” presents a rare opportunity to view these drawings together, outside of Italy. Dating from about 1480 to 1510, the works represent the most prolific period of Leonardo’s career.
