This year's Indiana girls' basketball senior class was filled with talent. It showed up on The Associated Press all-state team.
Warsaw guard Joslyn Bricker received the highest vote total in this year's balloting by a panel of sports writers, broadcasters and coaches from around the state as the senior class claimed the top 12 spots.
Three five-player teams are chosen with players selected regardless of their grade level or the class in which their schools compete. The next 25 players earn high honorable mention status, and an additional 88 players were honorable mention selections.
The 5-foot-9 Bricker received top honors after averaging 24.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists after leading Warsaw to a 24-3 record, one season after the Tigers lost in the Class 4A state title game. The Indiana Wesleyan commit also got more votes than IndyStar Indiana Miss Basketball Gracyn Gilliard of Class 4A champion Center Grove, who also earned first-team honors.
The rest of the first team was comprised of Vanessa Rosswurm of Class 4A runner-up Norwell, Lola Lampley of Lawrence Central and Lilli Barnes of Valparaiso. Bricker and Lampley were second team selections in 2024-25 while Barnes appeared on the third team.
Gilliard will continue her career at Davidson, Rosswurm is headed to Indiana Wesleyan, Lampley will play for NCAA power LSU and Barnes will attend Ball State.
Maya Epps of Homestead led the second-team all-state selections and was joined by Lapel’s Laniah Wills, Jennings County’s Mollie Ernstes, Hamilton Southeastern’s Kennedy Holman and Silver Creek’s Brooklyn Renn. Epps also was earned second-team honors last year while Holman. Renn was a third team choice in 2024-25.
Epps, a Louisville recruit, is recovering from an automobile accident on March 13 that left her with two spinal fractures. She underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.
Wills is heading to Butler, Ernstes and Renn will both play at Kansas and Holman is bound for Oregon.
The third team is led by two more seniors — Brooke Zartman of Warsaw and Madalynn Shirley of Evansville Central. Shirley also was a third-team selection last spring and will stay close to home to play at Southern Indiana next season. Zartman is headed to Miami (Ohio).
The other third-team members were Northridge junior Lily Scholl, McCutcheon junior Lillie Graves and Hammond Morton junior Kylah Patterson.
