The Stanford University student accused of attempting to meet a 10-year-old for a sexual encounter entered an innocent plea yesterday at the Redwood City Courthouse.
Alexander Simon, a 26-year-old student who volunteered at six San Mateo and Santa Clara elementary schools through an organization called Safety Sense, was arrested by Detective Greg Eatmon of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Department.
Although no other victims were identified at this point, Eatmon said that during Simon's statement to detectives, he mentioned that he'd been corresponding with other children and admitted that he was e-mailing the 10-year-old girl.
An investigation is ongoing to determine whether or not Simon had encounters with any students in the two counties, Eatmon said.
