Aragon 7, Half Moon Bay 0
The Dons improved their PAL Bay Division record to .500 and stayed in the hunt for a spot in the PAL team tournament with the win over the Cougars.
Aragon ( 6-6 PAL Bay, 7-9 overall) was led by the No. 3 doubles team of Celine Wen and Ariela Leventhal, who posted a 6-0, 6-0 win. Christina Wu, playing at No. 2 singles, dropped only one game in her victory, while Aretha Chen and Melina Ma posted 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.
Menlo-Atherton 7, San Mateo 0
The Bears wrapped up at least a piece of the PAL Bay Division championship with the sweep of the Bearcats with two matches remaining in the regular season.
Sophie Longo, filling in at No. 1 singles for M-A (12-0 PAL Bay), needed three sets to get past Sarah Fung-Smith of San Mateo (7-5). Fung-Smith took the first set, 6-4, but Longo bounced back to take the next two, 6-2, 6-4.
M-A’s No. 1 doubles team of Emily Xi and Amelia Wu also needed three sets to prevail over San Mateo’s Lian Ting and Jully Huang. Xi and Wu took the first set, 6-4, but Ting and Huang battled back to win the second set, 7-5. With the team match already decided, a third-set, super tiebreaker was used in lieu of a traditional third set. Xi and Wu won the tiebreak 10-4.
With the loss, the Bearcats remain in third place, just one game up on Aragon. The second-, third- and fourth-place teams from the Bay will join the Ocean Division champ in the PAL team tournament.
Hillsdale 4, Burlingame 3
The Panthers’ postseason chances took a bit of a hit with the Knights’ upset win in a PAL Bay Division match.
With the loss Burlingame (6-6 PAL Bay) falls into a fourth-place tie with Aragon.
Sophia Roser’s three-set win at No. 2 singles proved to be the deciding match. Roser dropped the first set to Vedika Bhaumik, 2-6, but Roser rallied to take the second set, 6-4. The third set was tied at 6-all, forcing a tiebreaker to decides things, with Roser coming away with a 7-3 decision to give Hillsdale the match.
Hillsdale’s No. 2 doubles team of Anusha Yelani and Lliessa Kimura also prevailed in a three-set duel against Burlingame’s Allie McHugh and Rebecca Coleman. The Knights’ duo won the first set 6-3, but the Burlingame pair bounced back with a 6-4 win in the second set. Yelani and Kimura previailed in the third set, 7-5.

The Cougars captured at least a share of the PAL Ocean Division title with the win over the Crusaders.
HMB (13-0 PAL Bay) can claim the outright division championship with a win over Terra Nova Thursday in Pacifica.
Julie Raffetto, Nikki and Kacie Sorfleet and Sophia Pappalardo all scored for the Cougars, who also got six saves from goaltender Jennifer Martuscelli. Raffetto also added four steals.

Girls’ golf
Aragon 228, Carlmont 230
The Dons gave the Scots something to think about as they won their PAL Bay Division matchup regular-season finale at San Mateo’s Poplar Creek.
The two teams will meet against Thursday at Poplar Creek, with the winner earning the PAL’s second automatic team bid to CCS. Regular-season champ San Mateo got the first berth.
Monday, Viveka Kurup led the way for Carlmont (9-3 PAL Bay), earning low-round honors with a 3-over 38. Aragon (7-4-1) was led by Mati Yoo’s 42. Megan Nash came in with a 44, while Brenda Fang finished with a 45 for the Dons.
Isabel Coghlan’s 45 followed Kurup for the Scots, who also got 49s from Lauren Wand and Kaitlyn Parohmug.
Menlo School 258, Mercy-Burlingame 266.
The Knights maintained their hold in the WBAL standings with the win over the Crusaders at Palo Alto Hills Country Club.
Menlo’s Sulwen Ma and Mercy’s Brooke Barron shared low-medalist honors as both shot 42s. Vikki Xu added a 44 for the Knights, while Taylor Baik carded a 46.

Sacred Heart Prep 7, Hillsdale 0
The Gators cruised past the Knights in a non-league match, losing a total of five games over 14 sets.
Linsday Lynch, Katherine Salisbury and Sarah Quinlan all won their singles matches at love, as did the No. 3 doubles team of Lindsay Marcus and Emily McGrath.
