The Lichaa sisters helped the Bearcats to the shutout win over the Vikings to move into a third-place tie in the PAL Bay Division standings.
The top three teams from the Bay earn automatic bids into the inaugural Central Coast Section playoffs.
Junior quarterback Kayla Lichaa completed 12 of 16 passes for 110 yards and three touchdowns for San Mateo (2-2 PAL Bay, 5-3 overall). Destiny Zhou, a sophomore receiver, was the recipient of all three touchdown passes as she finished with seven catches for 97.
Junior Zoe Lichaa led the defense, coming up with three interceptions.
Mills falls to 2-3 in division play and 7-6 overall.
Burlingame 7, Aragon 0
In a defensive struggle, Haleh Ansari scored the only touchdown with a pick-6 interception for the Panthers.
The win keeps Burlingame (2-2 PAL Bay, 9-6 overall) in second place in the Bay Division standings, while Aragon falls to 1-4 in Bay play and 4-5 overall.
Hillsdale 34, Jefferson 6
There was no let down for the Knights after their big win over South City last week as they rolled over the Grizzlies for their seventh win in a row.
Junior quarterback Ania Aleshi had a monster game for Hillsdale (6-0 PAL Ocean, 7-4 overall). She completed 84% of her passes (21 for 25) for 279 yards and five touchdowns. Senior receiver Madison Regan caught three of those scores, finishing with eight catches for 67 yards. Judy Michael made six catches for a whopping 112 yards and a score, while Siena Kane also had a big game, finishing with six receptions for 92 yards and the fifth score.
On defense, Ashley Hua finished with five sacks for the Knights and also recorded a safety.
Jefferson falls to 0-6 in Ocean play and 0-8 overall.
South City 40, Sequoia 14
The Warriors got their starting quarterback back and it paid dividends as they cruised past the Ravens.
Madyson Jade Quintanilla hooked up with Liongi Aiolupo for a 50-yard touchdown pass on the first drive of the game for South City (5-1 PAL Ocean, 5-1 overall). Quintanilla finished with 200 yards passing and three scores. She also hooked up with Jordan O’Shea-Signio for another scoring pass and added a rushing touchdown, as well.
Sequoia falls to 3-3 in Ocean play and 7-11 overall.
El Camino 26, Terra Nova 6
The Colts, one of three teams fielding a flag team for the first time this season, moved into third place in the Ocean Division standings with the win over the Tigers.
Yue Yang caught a pair of touchdown passes for El Camino (4-2 PAL Ocean, 7-4 overall), while Lhian Dela Cruz and Sophia Baula each rushed for a score.
Terra Nova drops to 1-4 in Ocean play and 1-6 overall.
In other action ...
Capuchino (3-3 PAL Ocean, 4-4 overall) dominated Half Moon Bay (1-4, 1-7), 52-13.
Menlo School (8-0 WBAL, 12-1 overall) destroyed Sacred Heart Cathedral (2-6, 3-14), 60-0.

In the Oct. 21 edition of the Daily Journal, the article "M-A flag football on top in PAL Bay," contained incorrect information about overtime. Carlmont and Burlingame played a triple overtime game last season.
Girls’ water polo
Burlingame 12, Hillsdale 7
The division-leading Panthers all but wrapped up the PAL Ocean Division title with the win over the second-place Knights.
Burlingame (11-0 PAL Ocean) now holds a two-game lead over Hillsdale (9-2) with three matches left on the Ocean Division schedule.
The Panthers led 6-4 at halftime before taking control with a five-goal third quarter.
Menlo-Atherton 13, Terra Nova 10
The Bears maintained their position atop the Bay Division standings following a closer-than-expected win over the Tigers.
M-A (8-0 PAL Bay, 9-3 overall) holds a one-game lead over second-place Woodside (6-1). The two meet on the final day of the regular season, Oct. 29 in Atherton.
Addison Gatley scored five times to pace the offense for Terra Nova (3-5, 3-5).
Notre Dame-Belmont 9, San Mateo 7
The Tigers moved above the .500 mark in Ocean Division play with the win over the Bearcats.
NDB (6-5 PAL Ocean, 10-8 overall) got six goals from Gabby Goldfarb. San Mateo (4-7) was led by Emme Young, who scored four times.
Mills 12, Mercy 6
Jules Formalo netted a hat trick for the Bears, but it wasn’t enough as the Vikings doubled them up.
In other action ...
Half Moon Bay (6-5 PAL Ocean) rolled over Capuchino, 18-3.

Sophomore Kayla Corcoran prepped for defense of her PAL individual title by firing the low round of the day in Knights’ win over the Bears.
Corcoran shot a 1-over 38 to lead the way for Hillsdale (5-5 PAL Bay), which moved into a tie for third place with Carlmont. Violet Agte was the only other Knights to shoot a sub-50 round, finishing with a 49.
M-A (0-10) was led by Savannah Lee, who carded a 41. Linh Nguyen finished with a 47 for the Bears.
