Menlo-Atherton 12, Capuchino 3
The Bears (6-3 PAL Bay, 10-12 overall) climbed into second place in the PAL Bay Division standings with a lopsided win at Capuchino. M-A took a 3-1 lead into the fifth, and sent 13 batters to the plate to rally for eight runs in the inning. Sophomore Lucas Ten Vaanholt tallied two hits with a double, a triple and three RBIs, freshman Owen Coupe had two doubles and two RBIs, and senior MJ Ellazar added two hits with a double, a triple and an RBI. Cap (2-9, 12-12) was paced by senior Jordan Estrella’s three hits. M-A junior Merrick Lee capped the scoring with a solo home run in the seventh, his third of the year.
King’s Academy 7, Menlo School 4
After owning first place for much of the PAL Bay Division season, fourth-place King’s Academy-Sunnyvale (6-4 PAL Bay, 13-10 overall) stayed mathematically in the hunt with a home win over Menlo School. The loss knocks Menlo (7-4, 15-8) into third place, two games back of first-place Burlingame and one game behind second-place Menlo-Atherton. Senior Nate Plata paced King’s with a 4-for-4 day, including a double and an RBI. Senior Jack Freehill led Menlo with two hits, including his third home run of the year, and sophomore William Larson left the yard for his second homer.
Sequoia 4, Hillsdale 1
Senior right-hander Garrett Johnson fired four shutout innings to earn the win, and added two hits and two RBIs at the plate as the Ravens (4-6 PAL Bay, 13-9 overall) snapped a four-game league losing streak at Hillsdale (2-9, 9-13). Sequoia junior Isaac Nayfack added a solo home run in the sixth, the first of his varsity career. Johnson allowed two hits and three walks, while striking out three. Sophomore reliever Oliver Connelly closed with out with 1 2/3 scoreless frames to earn the save. Junior Brayden Lee had a single and an RBI for the Knights.
Summit Shasta 16, Summit Tahoma 4
LeBryan Marcial went 4 for 4 with an RBI and five stolen bases, as Summit Shasta (8-4 PSAL, 8-8 overall) racked up 16 hits to earn the five-inning mercy-rule win at Summit Tahoma-San Jose (1-9, 1-12). Ari Umali added two hits and three RBIs for the Black Bears, Xavier Guerra and Jalen Mingao had two hits and two RBIs apiece, and Dean Nunan had two hits with an RBI.

Burlingame 8, Notre Dame-San Jose 0
Junior starter Aditi Bafna and sophomore reliever Brooke Arce combined on a three-hit shutout to keep Burlingame (5-1 PAL Ocean, 12-8 overall) in the hunt for the PAL Ocean Division crown. With the home win, the Panthers move into a tie atop the league standings with Menlo-Atherton, who had an off-day Wednesday.
Bafna allowed two hits through four shutout innings of work to earn the win, upping her record to 3-1. Arce fired three shutout innings to earn the save, allowing one hit and striking out four. The Panthers banged out 14 hits, paced by sophomore Colette Uharriet’s 3-for-4 day.
Notre Dame-San Jose (3-5, 11-11) got singles from juniors Kamille Beals and Alex Vera, and freshman Estella Martinez.
Half Moon Bay 13, El Camino 3
Taelor Johnson delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the mercy-rule walk-off home win for Half Moon Bay (4-4 PAL Lake, 8-11 overall). Senior Miranda Sarabia and sophomore Zoey Schwartz totaled three hits and three RBIs apiece, and senior Mariah Deeney recorded the complete-game win in the circle while going 2 for 3 with an RBI at the plate. Senior Juliana Bazlamit connected for her third home run of the season for El Camino (2-6, 5-11).
Terra Nova 11, Sequoia 4
Leading 4-1 in the sixth, the Tigers (2-5 PAL Ocean, 8-9 overall) sent 11 batters to the plate to put up a 7-spot for a runaway win at Sequoia (1-5, 5-11). Bonnie Barrango starred both sides of the ball, going 3 for 5 with three RBIs at the plate, and recording the complete-game victory in the circle to even her record at 5-5. Senior Jamie Elkington paced the Ravens with three hits, including a double, a home run and three RBIs.
