With the win, SHP earns a two-game series sweep over the Warriors.
South City (0-2, 5-5) set the table with a single by Yordonis Medina-Pineda and a walk by Dylan Munsayac, then Adam Keith got hit by a pitch with two outs to load the bases. Pollioni then locked up with junior Vince Bernal for a nine-pitch at-bat, finishing it with a popup to the left side of the infield.
Junior starting pitcher Kyle Sweeney earned the win for SHP, allowing two runs on three hits through four innings. The left-hander walked three and struck out seven. His record improves to 4-0 with a 0.78 ERA. The Gators staked Sweeney to an early lead with three runs in the first and three more in the fourth.
Junior Thomas Barton paced SHP with two hits. Medina-Pineda totaled two hits and two RBIs for South City, while sophomores Jayden Tejada and Josh Ornelas each recorded two hits and an RBI.
