Colin Kryger and Peter Koren, Menlo-Atherton boys’ lacrosse. The Bears finished out a legendary season, with Kryger and Koren running neck-and-neck as the top scorers in the program’s history. M-A opened play in the CCS boys’ lacrosse championships with a 12-6 win over Stevenson-Pebble Beach last Friday, the team’s program-best 20th win of the year. Kryger is currently the program’s all-time leading scorer with 174 career goals and, as a junior, should get the chance to add to that total next year. For the time being, however, Koren, a senior, has a chance to catch him, with 172 career goals to his credit. The team suits up again Wednesday in the CCS semifinals.

Juliana Bazlamit, El Camino softball. The sophomore closed out a spectacular year at the plate for the Lady Colts with back-to-back three-hit games. Bazlamit went 3 for 4 in a 10-6 loss to Half Moon Bay, then followed that up with a 3-for-3 line with three doubles and an RBI in Elco’s 10-6 victory over rival South City to close out the year. Bazlamit will now carry a nine-game hitting streak into next season, and finishes the 2024 campaign with a .721 batting average, good for the Peninsula Athletic League Ocean Division batting crown, the best batting average throughout the PAL, and the sixth-best average in the Central Coast Section, among teams that report statistics to MaxPreps.com.
