Crystal Springs Uplands won its first CIF State volleyball championship by defeating Oceanside 17-25, 25-23, 25-13, 16-25, 15-11. The keys for the Gryphons were amazing serving from libero Bianca Sladewski, a diverse offensive attack and a strong defense that adjusted to slow the powerful Pirates.

“I’m really proud of you,” said Crystal coach Chelby Spray to her team. “For our season and how hard you pushed. I’m proud of you for the win tonight. We got a little comfortable in the fourth set but then we got back to playing our game.”
