I fell in love with San Mateo right after moving here back in 2016. This city offers great food, lots of entertainment, safety and ease of access to the rest of the Bay Area.
I consider myself lucky to live here, as not everyone is able to make San Mateo their home. San Mateo has three Caltrain stations and a growing list of amazing destinations right next to them. Sadly, the zoning around these stations has limited the growth of residential and mixed-use buildings, thus, making it hard to find housing walking distance away from food and Caltrain. Measure T would help us do just that — create places to live at exactly where it is the most convenient.
That is why I support Measure T and I truly hope that you will as well. Let’s make San Mateo an even better place to live.
Sorry, Aurimas, but Measure T is a flawed bait and switch measure. If folks have voter remorse, they can change their vote in the future as I expect there will be future Measure T “clones” in the near and far future. Meanwhile, I’d recommend folks start voting out the folks who decided to put Measure T on the ballot. Measure T repeals Measure Y so whatever “protections” were given under Measure Y is now taken away. Essentially, Measure T may create places to live at exactly where they want, and not the most convenient. Vote NO on Measure T.
