Where was its concern when hospitals in Israel were struck by missiles fired by Hamas? No resolutions were sought when a rocket fired by Islamic Jihad hit a hospital parking lot and killed dozens of people and not a word from them about Hamas digging tunnels under hospitals endangering patients and staff. Where is the concern by those advocates for the hostages whose medication was withheld by Hamas? This resolution would have done nothing to help the people of Gaza. Thankfully this hypocritical move was rejected.
Thanks, Gil, for submitting an LTE opposing Noelia Corzo's efforts to get a cease fire resolution passed by the San Mateo Medical Center Board. Thanks to Scott, Heather, Oscar, Leya, Steve, and David for doing the same. The message is clear. Noelia should heed the advice of Dr. Blum and just do her job.
Will Noelia get the message that San Mateo county voters don't want grandstanding about a foreign conflict, but want her to do her job addressing the problems in our county? And more importantly, will voters remember her wasteful stunt come election time? They could have had Charles Stone, a reasonable old-school Democrat more like Ray Mueller, but here we are.
