Letter: Voting strategy

No on Measure A. Since 1988 the country's transportation tax has pledged to reduce congestion. With traffic worse than ever, now they want more for strategies that haven't worked. We need fresh thinking and have four years to find it before the tax runs out.

No on Proposition 71. Human sacrifice has led cultures to ruin. Why risk ours because researchers covet embryonic stem cells? That embryos are human is bio-fact, not personal opinion. Proposition 71 ignores non-embryonic stem cells offering pinpointed health relief.

No on Measure Q. We need a county-wide vote before Redwood City sets housing precedent with bayside condo towers. They would invade vertical open space, hurt birds, shift winds, and affect a next-door federal nature preserve. Unsuited to children, they would offer young families no housing relief, thus spurring sprawl. Redwood City firefighters say they lack big-city gear to attack high-rise fires.
