The storm of biblical proportions all over the greater Houston area has disrupted thousands of lives and challenged all of us to do whatever we can to find a way to help.
To this end, what brings hope to Houstonians and to everyone throughout the nation is the massive amount of love and support from concerned citizens from all over the United States.
At this point in time, we are determined to simply come together and work to do the right thing in whatever way we can. May we never forget the spirit of love and compassion and generosity which is at the heart of this effort; and may the heart of Houston, the eyes of Texas and the heart and soul of America shine more brightly with each passing day.
Thank you for this. It's interesting to think how people helping others without a thought as to whether they were of the same beliefs or color or political party just naturally happens. Quite different in social media where our country is polarized. It seems that when you cannot be anonymous, and have to look the other person in the eye, and see them as a human being like yourself, that you cannot resist but to connect in a positive way.
