I am very incensed about the California governor’s moratorium regarding the death penalty. The people of California have cast their vote for the death penalty in the initiative of 2016. The action of the governor is unconstitutional as the governor’s job is to enforce the law, not make or change laws.Â
Also, the right to have an initiative is there for a reason and has been ignored by this governor. Lastly, sparing violent criminals from the ultimate punishment offends many victims of violent crime. I used to be against the death penalty, but realize that the most heinous criminals should face the ultimate punishment. Â
