I read with admiration of the move in at the old drive-in on the Bay (boo hoo, I still miss it) of Facebook’s Oculus operation. Great that we’ll have yet more high paid commuters moving in among us. I imagine they’ll be asked to pay some impact fees for affordable housing and hopefully issue their commuters free passes on our mass transit. How about closing their lots to single occupancy vehicles during commute hours? Running free shuttles from the transit nodes to the campus? When you’re starting from the ground up you can hopefully set the rules.
I also was impressed at your last City Council meeting that you guys passed an impressive number of pro-environment resolutions, such as the sign on to the county’s Carbon Fee and Dividend Resolution. Great move. I’m hoping to see my town of San Mateo follow on that as well. We need to stand with the county when they set the pace. Bravo.
