He was 89.
Milford had a distinguished military career, having served in World War II and the Korean War, as a warrant officer. Some awards he earned included the World War II Victory Medal, the Korean War Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Army Meritorious Unit Commendation.
After his military service, Milford remained very active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Order of the Cooties (Honorary Society of the VFW) and was a member the of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Forty and Eight, Silicon Valley of MOAA, and American Veterans. He volunteered over 3,000 hours at the V.A. hospital in Menlo Park and Palo Alto. Â
He was a devoted brother, enjoyed fishing, traveling and reading.
He is survived by his sister Ellen Alberstat, half brother Irwin, niece Beth Wilosny and numerous cousins. Â
Milford was a kind-hearted and generous man. Memorial contribution can be given to Congregation Beth Jacob, Redwood City, Congregation Thilim, San Francisco, or to the VFW National Home for Children.
Funeral services were held at Skylawn Memorial Park.
