Mary Lou Degliantoni, age 80, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones Dec. 7, 2018.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ed; son Mark and daughters Denise (Rob) and Lisa (Dave); six grandsons Bobby, Jack, Louie, Miles, Niccolo and Roman.
She worked as an elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, starting out in San Francisco public schools, spending the last 20 years of her career teaching first-grade at Saint Matthew’s Catholic School.
Together with her husband Ed, she led an active, social lifestyle. Besides being dedicated to their six grandsons, they enjoyed travel (visiting 20 counties), volunteering (St. Anthony’s), playing cards (Pedro group for 40 years) and family traditions (Lake Almanor). Mary Lou truly lived life to the fullest, celebrating many lifelong friendships; She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a fun and positive way.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 13. Viewing 6 p.m., vigil 7 p.m., and Friday: Dec. 14, 10 a.m. at Saint Matthew’s Catholic Church, 910 S. El Camino Real in San Mateo, arrangements handled by Sneider, Sullivan & O’Connell’s, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo.
