Judith “Virginia” Rosenquist, longtime resident of Hillsborough and San Mateo died peacefully at her home Feb. 7, 2018, at the age of 98. She is survived by her three children: Daniel, David, Janet (Foss) and her grandson Evan (Foss) and their families.
Virginia was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Minnehaha Academy, a private high school. She went on to graduate from business school and have a career working for doctors in the military during World War II. She was also an accomplished pianist and played piano for Billy Graham.
She married Warren Rosenquist in Los Angeles in 1941, two weeks before Pearl Harbor where he was enlisted in the Navy. After the war, they started their family and Virginia turned to full-time homemaking.
“She was a devoted mother and raised her children with love. She assisted her husband Warren in his home building business, selecting the decor. When Warren retired they enjoyed traveling the world, visiting over 140 countries. In her life Virginia’s energy and creative spirit touched many and as a painter her work reflected beauty and her love of life. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.”
