John Marion Smith, born Oct. 6, 1943, died March 9, 2019.
He lived in San Mateo, California, where he was a postal carrier for over 30 years. John loved being around family and friends. He was a jokester and always made everyone laugh wherever he went. Survived by his son JB Smith; siblings Myra, Jack and Leslie Smith; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Regina Smith; parents George and Rubye Smith; and brothers Ricardo and Jerome.
Viewing/quiet hour will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20. All services will be held at Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home, 977 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo. Reception to follow at Macedonia COGIC in San Mateo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses to put John to rest in Manawa Cemetery in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Donations can be made to: JB Smith, 260 Van Buren Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025.
